Because not everyone wanted to deal with DEF until the infrastructure was in place. OEM's have to satisfy all customers. I can't say I read many threads started by John Deere fans complaining that they didn't get DEF, nor did I read ones about Red guys complaining they got DEF. It was just something for people to use as a pissing match when arguing which one was better. The reality? Apparently its not enough to make people change brands, so who really cares. The emissions stuff is not the only thing to go wrong on the tractor. |
