North of London | i have experienced using outhouse as a younger person.
The ones I remember had piles in them that would have left a hill if they were covered.
i do not think the outhouses I remember ever got moved.
they did have a trap door on the back so they could access the pile.
we have a couple on our property.
1 by a private picnic/park area and another by our little cabin/shack in the woods.
They have been there for quite a few years and since they only get used on occasion the piles seem to 'melt' away.
It will be quite a few more years before they need cleaned up.
And another memory is the aroma that came from an outhouse, especially in warm weather. | |
