haskell county, ks | those tree rows would have only filled with dirt in that kind of storm. my neighbors mother is one of the interviewed people on the show. i farm in haskell and seward co ks and my wife's family endured those horrible years. we were afraid of that again with the drought, but have finally had rain. from july1, 2010 to thanksgiving of 2011, we had only 3" of rain and it was becoming very apparant that mankind is not in control. thankfully, even though we are still very dry, have at least been able to grow enough to protect the ground. let me tell you when it doesn't rain for extended times, no till is a help but is not immune. | |
