Speed of the disk.....the blade carrier.......... is still up in the air.

Plan on trying to use one motor per row...... with respect to how big I am going to have to confer with probably the guys at Surplus Center.

If we set it up so that we have enough grunt out of the motors, then use a short belt between the motor and that shaft for that row.........then we can vary the speed to the speed that seems to be best, by merely changing the pulley.

Don't have to worry about blades hitting each other, since there will only be one cutting unit per row.......between the rows..........about anywhere from 1ft above ground to three feet above ground, depending upon the amount of moisture--------lots of moisture, cut it high........low moisture, cut it low.
