Subject: sheep questions

southwest minnesota
So I have always thought it would be fun to feed a few feeder lambs in an old open front shed I have. I have never had sheep so I know very little about them. Would it work to buy lambs in the spring and sell them in the fall? What is a good market weight for a fattened lamb? Do you feed them a corn/pellet mix and some hay? How much would it cost to feed a feeder lamb to finish roughly? What breeds are normally fed for slaughter? What vet costs are "normal" when feeding sheep?
Im just curious so I figured I would ask on here. I wouldn't be looking to feed a lot of them, just a handful to start is all. When I asked my wife she promptly shot the idea down because "its just one more thing we have take care of or someone has to take care of if we are gone" (we have cows with my parents already), but I might try it anyways because the shed I want to put them in isn't big enough to store machinery or hay in. Thanks in advance for any insight.
