Subject: Oats on PP land?

NE KS
I will have to buy 150 big round bales of hay this winter. But now I have 140acres of PP land. Its creek bottom that doesn't drain so well during this extremely wet spring we've had. Has anyone drilled oats and hayed them after nov1st? What if we get a hard freeze. Will freeze bleached oats still make good feed for beef cows? When should they be drilled, end of August? I have 11-52-0 and 0-0-60 prepaid so I could add some 46-0-0 to incorporate ahead of drilling. Would you add some turnips? Grazing or running a chopper are not an option. I am 20 miles from Nebraska and 70 miles from Missouri in NE Kansas. Is there something else I could plant to round bale after nov 1st?
