Subject: Soy populations.

Lockyer valley, QLD, Australia
These pics are from a few years ago. It was planted for hay at 200-220000 plants/acre an 5in rows. It grew much better than first thought so was let go to grain. Photos are from edge of paddock, off the edge the plants were nowhere as good. Alot was shaded out, lodged and just couldn't compete. It yielded about 40b/ac from memory but recon it has potential to yield much higher if at a more suited pop. I am about to plant it agian in next day or two and was planning to plant at 120000. It is a month later and on much heavier soil than year these photos were taken so probably wont get as high or bushy. Don't wont to lower pop to low, but should be going lower to say 100-110? Will be on 5in. rows again. Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated.
