I kept a simmental calf that his mother died giving birth. He wasn’t huge or anything. Kept him as a bull as he was a great calf, and really the only bottle calf I’ve raised that was as good as if raised by the cow. I fed him milk longer, as he was a good beggar, so that helped. I’d grow him up and assess him then.
