Subject: inguinal hernia in feeder pigs

Central Illinois - west of Peoria

when castrating our lastest group I noticed we had a few pigs that had inguinal hernias , we cut the one side that wasn't affected and left the other testical in . What causes this and are they worth saving ? id guess it would take a vet to do the procedure on them . they are still growing fine like the rest - could a guy finish them out for the freezer ?

thanks
