I could really go either way with these machines, but think I’m leaning more towards the turbo max. Looked at a neighbors excellerator the other day and he was showing me the shear bolt design on the wing down pressure. He said he just puts it in float if he’s coming to a ditch or an uneven spot in the field or else it’ll shear from the constant pressure . That had me a bit concerned since we have quite a bit of rough, uneven ground. I’ve also seen some guys pulling these with older tractors, how do they keep the down pressure on the wings and do they work as good that way versus a newer tractor with more modern hydraulics? Really wanting something to run on stalks in the fall, then plant directly into in the spring. What’s anyone like or dislike about either one?

There is an update kit to eliminate shearing the bolt on the 8000 models. The 8005 and 8010 are different and will not shear the bolt on the wings.
