The smoked Deere tubes can get so many scratches that they throw off the photo eye. If the photo eye was used in the old style seed tubes they can be scratched too. The combination of both of those is mind numbingly simple when you find it. If you have a 20/20, it has a sensor screen. When sitting still take a look at that sensor screen and see if anything is counting up by itself with no seed flow.
