SW Louisiana | We cleared a pond of a weed that looked very similar. It was thick enough to walk on in places. We didn't use herbicide because most of this small pond was covered and thought the decomposition of the plant may cause a fish kill. I bent some rebar and welded it together to make what was essentially a large treble hook. Used wire rope tied to a polaris and pulled it out. If I were to do it again I would use something heavier than rebar because it bends to easily. If not worried about a fish kill, or just spraying small portions, diquat will work. | |
