There is no subscription required for the Outback Guidance S3. Start by checking the voltage on the antenna cable. I will place a link below that will take you to the Outback Guidance Knowledge Base for the instructions and video on how to do the voltage check. Even if the voltage check is good at the S3 port and is good to the antenna end of the cable, it does not rule out the receiver board having failed.
