Subject: Does a Gramegna Spader Need to be Timed?

I am putting new gearbox seals in a Gramegna spader for a neighbor. The spades run on crankshafts. I foolishly did not mark the position of the crank where it goes on the splined shaft on the left side. Has anyone here any experience working on them? I'll go out and take a pic and post it up here.

Does it need to be timed so the spades don't hit the other side or cause a vibration issue?
