Pocket note books.
I have 2 and as Mark said probably people collect them. I just keep the 2 i have

one on left is from 1949 and is noted as being the 82nd edition so they must have started publishing them in 1867 at least in the US.
Mine are from 1949 82nd edition and 1972 105th edition, that one I probably got myself from the dealer.
The 1949 edition would be my father's and has crop plans from 2 or 3 years drawn on some of the pages but no dates.

Interesting books to leaf through if you come from that time period as you recognize many of the machines advertised in them
They also contain all kinds of info, more in the older one than the newer one.
The '49 book has ledger pages for each month to record your expenses and income, a couple pages to record egg production and crop yields etc.

Note the phone number on the one from '49
BTW Simmons would be the father of an uncle of mine, my father's brother in law, and my Uncle eventually took it over with his brother before selling it around 1960?
