One thing I notice about packaged foods like that is they pick up the odors of stuff like the highly scented clothes washing products they get stored with in the warehouses, shipping and the store shelves. Most people these days are so contaminated with these odors they don't realize what it is. I really don't know how most people these days actually know what something taste like or the smell of anything.
