E. Kansas | Besides red tomatoes, yellow tomatoes are also enjoyed here, and the 3 varieties of those that I grow are Lemon Boy, Golden Jubilee, and Yellow Pear. I have no idea how any of them are for canning, but I would guess not good, as I believe they are lower in acid and would require some vinegar or whatever is used to help make them keep better when canned. Even then they may not be good for canning.
For a "dual purpose" red tomato, I would say Roma are one possibility. I like Roma's and almost every variety of tomato.
