When the atu 200 did this in our combine we ended up putting a new motor inside the atu, was about half the price of a new atu 200. Wish we had of spent the money then on upgrading to an atu 300, put one in a 7430 john deere and 8t works so much better.
One thing to try is dumbing down your sensitivity settings to see if it will hold a line without disengaging
