I have using raised beds for 10 years or more, one thing U might want to think about is Drip Tape, which works a lot better than soaker hoses, its low pressure, U can get a cheap timer, that will keep U from overwatering, with the price of lumber I don't think I will be able to replace the rotten boards, I find that the boards don't last over about 5 years or so,
