nc ks | Mostly yes, but not totally without choices. Basis is basically their bid to secure the amount of grain they need. If they screw up and don't bid enough, they may pay for it later after the local grain gets shipped out to somewhere that was more on top of their basis bids. That is why it is important as a farmer to keep on top of what various bids are and what transportation costs and keeping control of your grain until you are ready to sell it. That way if a location is pulling some funny business, you can bypass them. | |
