Since you already have a FieldStar monitor the cheapest option is to add one of these $400 gps kits from AgExpress https://www.agexpress.com/store/c27/yield-mapping/ K18 and K19 kits are for the Fieldstar and Fieldstar 2 monitors. Those will let you store yield maps, but as always, you get what you pay for. Those garmin 16x gps pucks are not the best and your yield lines will be wavy. AgExpress sells a cc1052k which lets you connect an agleader 6000 receiver to AGCO combines (replacing the default gps puck that normally ships with their combines) which is more accurate than the garmin 16x, but costs more.

FarmTRX and Loup Electronics both make affordable retrofit yield kits, but don’t do any kind of autosteering. I’ve heard from several growers who are very happy with both systems.

Ag Leader and Trimble both make aftermarket yield monitoring kits and their monitors can also be used for autosteering. If you think you might get into some kind of guidance in the near future it might be worth investing in one of those systems as you could potentially use the monitor to steer your planting tractor in the spring and your combine in the fall.
