| I don't have the fault listing at home, so will assume that ENG 143 is a derate alarm caused by low oil pressure.
If you're CERTAIN the oil pressure is fine with a manual gauge at the time the fault is ACTIVE, then your problem is either in the ECM or the engine controller wiring harness. If not already done, remove the 50-pin connector from the ECM and check for bent/loose pins. Clean both ends with quality electrical contact cleaner. Have the dealership carefully check the resistance of the wires from the sensor to the ECM with a good multimeter, and check again while shaking the harness. Make sure the power & ground connections to the ECM are good, and the ground connections on the block. Check and clean the ground strap connections on the engine by the starter. Check and clean the positive and negative battery cables at both ends. Re-flash the ECM.If all this checks out, try another ECM. | |
