Subject: 1900 air cart tranny on a planter

just wondering if anyone has tried putting a transmission off of a deere air cart on to a planter for variable seeding. it looks to me like that would be lots simpler than a hydralic driven vr drive. i cannt tell you exactly how a transmission on the aircart works but it seems to be basically an ivt with an electric motor on it to adjust/vary the rate. couldnt you just mount the wedge box off of the cart on your planter along with the transmission and have a variable rate. i know of a wrecked 1900 and am thinking about trying this. just curious if anyone else has done it??
