The Chuck has a male tapered top.
This male taper fits into a Female taper.
This female taper is broken just above the chuck taper.
There is a window opening to use a wedge to remove the chuck.
The broken part is visible through the window opening.
What do I call these parts?
There must be one more piece, that connects the RH end in these pictures, to the chuck.

Usually the quill shaft on the drill press has a female Morse self holding taper where an arbor is inserted. The arbor is double tapered, Morse taper into the drill press quill shaft and usually a Jacobs taper into the drill chuck. I have attached an example parts diagram. The piece in the drill press can be removed with a tapered drift driven through the window opening you mention.

Edit, rereading your post are you thinking that part A3A in the attached example is broken in your drill press?
