Just buy some heavy tube that fits over yours, or bend some up, C shape, out of 3/8' flat stock.
Taper to ends down as you don't need the strength out there and it makes it easier to slide under something.
Be aware, especially with a payloader, they really aren't for lifting per say, mostly for balancing, you can easily overload them and get into trouble.
