Up to 40 % can gas off within 6 days. In hot, dry and windy conditions 33% can be gone in 3 days.
We always have to remember that volatilization starts within hours of application. Especially in Nebraska as High ph soil, sandy soil, no till with crops residue or a living plant, low organic matter and high bicarbonate levels all increase urea loss.
