Subject: RE: Root worm damage on first year

banders - 4/6/2021 21:55 Had a farmer with rootworm damage on first year corn. Anyone else having first year problems.

Seen it many times.

Northern Corn Rootworm is known to have "extended diapause".    Meaning that the eggs don't hatch the year after they are laid, they wait a year (the year that the field is planted to soybeans) and then hatch when the field is planted to corn again.
