Imprinting is a different thing than long term attention. Imprinting is accomplished the first few interactions. My springs are handled significantly different from the falls.
Springs get multiple checks in poor weather / day. Tagging ASAP. Many newborns will approach me if I hum.
Fall get worked/tagged but may be 3 days old. I use a leg hook if required.
