roaming | WEP key and SSID are not the same, even in a Netgear world...
SSID is the wireless network name
WEP key (aka passphrase) is the security key needed to access the network.
SSID is like your street address, while WEP key opens your front door.
Also, if you have any choice at all, don't use WEP. It is notoriously weak and is only marginally better than no security at all, if someone wants access to your network. WPA or other protocols are a much better choice. | |
