I've been pondering whether to extend the warranty on our recently purchased 2019 Honda odyssey. Currently has 15000 miles on it and we paid 31500. It comes with a warranty until 40000 miles for bumper to bumper and 60000 for the powertrain.
Bumper to bumper is basically anything besides routine maintenance that would come up. There is alot of electronic gadgets and features on this van so that would be one reason I'd think of doing it. It cost 2200 to extend both warranties to 100000 miles. My thoughts are im already covered for a decent amount of miles if there was any glitches from the factory.I've always believed that extending warranties was a waste in the past and have figured a little risk is not a bad thing. However thought it was worthwhile to at least consider. Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.
Only way I would even consider it is if the extended warranty is from Honda itself, with a Honda dealer doing the work for no cost, just like the factory warranty.
Otherwise, hard pass.
