Altoona, WI | You are correct. However, an internal combustion engine burns most of that energy up as heat loss. There is a small amount of loss with electric as well, but it is very small in comparison.
The amount of usable energy in gasoline compared to a fully charged Tesla battery is 4 gallons. In other words, if gas was as energy efficient as a Tesla battery, you could go as far on 4 gallons of gas as a Tesla does on a charge. How many cars do you know of that can go 300+ miles on 4 gallons? | |
