| That unit would be my choice as well if I used a Windows computer with vital data on it. As the article states, the software in that Seagate unit replicates what Mac Leopard has built in - Time Machine. Automatic hourly back-ups of your entire hard drive - only thing backed up is changes made since the last backup to save disk space on the external. There is a real piece of mind in knowing that your HD could go to pieces at any moment and all you would need to do is install a new drive and restore from the external right back to where you were at before it happened. I have recently upgraded to a 1.5 TB external for my Time Machine. I estimate that I have enough space for 2-3 years of backups - meaning I will be able to go back that far and restore any file that once resided on my computer.
Or in the case of Windows - restore back prior to 4/1/09 when Conflicker took hold! ;) LOL!!! Sorry, had to get my licks in - been awhile!
