Subject: Trapping coyotes

nw NC
About the first of February I was asked by a couple of guys if they could set some traps on our farm in order to trap coyotes. "Sure", I told them. They did so and checked their traps daily. During the month they live trapped 13 coyotes off our 158 acres which is about 70 acres open and 90 acres woodland. I am certain that animals from acreage on adjoining property could have been involved in travel on our property. I was surprised that many coyotes were in the area. Trappers sold the coyotes to a guy in far eastern NC who has a "hunting pen" of 400 acres fenced where fox and coyote hunters run dogs in contest to see who has the best hunting dogs. Glad the coyotes are gone but as I understand, more will move into the area.
