Just because it hasn't been right for the last 30 years to lock in long term rates doesn't mean it will continue to be that way. With rates at near all time lows looks like the risk of interest rates going up some outweigh the risk of them going down further. And if they go up, they could eat up that 1 1/2% savings in a hurry. |
