My wife’s nephew needed both kidneys removed when he was probably mid 40s. He retired from AF and had the same disease his mother had. He had transplant about 5 years ago. He is very active with Purple Heart groups and riding motorcycles. Keep connected with medical facilities that do transplants and are up on latest technology. Good luck.
