Subject: RE: new holland t8000 tractors

They have Cummins 8.3l engines which are pretty reliable. We have an 8030 we were using to grind corn this past fall and it just shut off as the fuel pump went out. Couldn't get it repaired so had to replace for a little better than $2000. It had 6xxx hours on it. I was talking to some of the technicians from the new holland dealership and they said they have a way of applying the parking brake while you're going down the road and snapping things inside the transmission. They said that results in a tractor split. That came up because we were trying to find a way to finish grinding the corn and we couldn't get the parking brake off so we decided to pull the grinder away from the tractor rather than risk pulling the tractor and snapping something. They are nice tractors that are easy to use and get the job done but they seem to be put together kind of cheap. Some of the aftercooler tubes seem to rub on the hood and get holes in them.
