Subject: RE: Whole corn and no feed grinder

Beresford, SD
All depends on rate of passage. Dairy guys feed hog feed in their rations, steins on self feeder whole is advised. Every commercial feedyard in the world at least rolls, most flake. $5 corn.......with my electric mill, can roll corn for less than 3cents/bushel. One rancher I buy weaned calves from, feeds a tick of shell corn in his ration...while walking the 20 acre trap I took my pliers and crushed a bunch of kernels in the manure...the starch was not digested hardly at all. There is no correct answer other than it all depends on rate of passage.......kind of stock and ration.
