Subject: RE: Maxxum Case Tractors

Ft. Ripley MN
I just looked on tractor data and the only motor they mentioned for a 140 maxxum is the 6.7 6 cylinder. Not sure where you seen it has the 4 cylinder. The 140 never came with a 4 cylinder. The 6.7 motor that they use goes all the way up to the 240 magnum. We got to use a 190 magnum and that was one sweet tractor. You should know that they come with power management they call it and the tractor will “boost” its self and you can get an extra 20 horse out of it. So that 140 maxxum will actually have 160 horse on the motor. I’m not sure about tuning to get more power. I’ve always thought that’s a horrible idea. Buy a tractor big enough to do the job to begin with. We did have to do tillage with ours one spring when the big tractor went down. 8-16” plow, 21 ft disk, 11 shank chisel plow. It did the job fine but i don’t know about doing it every day. That tractor has more then enough power to do the job.
