Subject: Covid Stimulus and Taxes

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I took my tax information in yesterday and dropped it off. The gal at the desk asked me to take home a slip of paper and call back with the information. The paper asked for the amounts of my Covid stimulus. I filled it out and called her back with the information. This was the gal that answers the phone and doesn't necessarily know all the tax implications but tries to be helpful.

She said that it her understanding that the government wants this listed on the tax form but it will not affect my taxes. They just want to be certain that everyone got what was intended. I have the sad feeling that they may think some of us didn't really need it and try to get some tax out of it.

I assumed the Covid relief for the farm would be considered farm income but that the personal checks would be tax-free. Is this correct?
