Never done a timing belt on a Deutz engine. But every timing belt I ever put on over the years, following factory procedures. Ended up to where you can turn the belt approximately 1/4 turn on the slack side. The same as I was taught when I did my very first timing belt on a 2.2L Chrysler 4 cylinder. Patrick
