Mostly because you can't put enough on a hopper and they wont unload sugar beets very well. Multiple uses and big loads on dumps. If I lived where you live I'd pull a hopper too. Cheap compared to these things.
Yep Some people don't realize how much you can get on a dump trailer. On your post the other day there was a guy that responded basically he didn't understand why anybody would get a dump because you could get so much more on a hopper and I couldn't help but laugh. They don't realize how much they lose in the slopes of the hoppers compared to a straight tub. We can get as many bushels on our 34' dump trailer as we can our 40' hopper same side heights on both. Edit: Also love your new trailer ! We have an East that I try to keep all shined up but its hard to keep them with the shine of when they're new.
