I went the cut/weld route to convert an older pin on bucket to quick attach and I would not do it again. It works fine but I feel like I spent more than half what a new bucket would have cost after figuring time & materials and I still have a crappy older bucket. Your bucket looks a little nicer than the one I was working with but it also has a curved backside so welding up a quick attach won't be nearly as quick/easy. 

I'd get a new one ordered and drop off the one you have at the next consignment sale.
