 south central WI | I'm not sure why the gehl spreaders get such a bad rap on here. We have owned and wore out 4 of them (buy them half used up and finish the job ourselves). I don't remember ever having an issue with them. The auger raises up if it bridges over, and the side with the flatter slope has plastic to help it slide down. I've spread some round bale waste also, but not a large amount. I usually move it once from feeding/bedding area to storage area before loading, but not always. It does make it come out faster if it is moved once before loading.
