south west iowa
We have a Schuler MS725 twin vertical auger wagon and we pull it with a Caseih 7120 FWA that is 185 HP. We load a 15,000 lb. of ground corn stalks or ground bean stubble and mod. wet cake and syrup with a mineral balancer. We feed most of our loads out in dirt lots or pastures. You will have to have your hay and things ground with a tub grinder as any wagon is to slow to grind bales with. You will like a twin auger better if you are not putting any silage in with your mix. I had a Schuler 625 single auger wagon first and it did not mix the load good. When it is very muddy out or on snow I do run chains on the back of the tractor but I have pulled it with mud going over the hitch of the tractor that is over knee high. This is just what we do.
