Kingston,Mi
Similar tedders to that tool were built here in North America as well, I have an early 1930's brochure from International/McCormick Deering with that design in it. The dump rake and the 5 ft. or so mower are tools from my early years. Dad and both Grandfathers farmed with similar tools built by North American companies. The scythe is quite different from the one that is in my tool shed, mine has a curved or shaped "snath" with handles that can be adjusted where that scythe has that t shaped brace to accomplish the same action. Keep those old tools around to survive the apocalypse. Dad up dated ours with a high quality Austrian forged blade and bought the small anvil and a special hammer to draw out the edge before sharpening, I haven't the faintest idea how to do that.
