so in a small town that say has 4 banks, 2 sell out to larger bank. The two banks have 120 employees with them. new branch has 15 employees. Balance sheet for the bank stays the same. cost of employee's and RE go down greatly.
true story in central illinois. From the FDIC standpoint less reporting.
