Southeastern Tipton County, Indiana

CASE3594 - 2/17/2021 13:20 I agree. The service manuals from JI Case were better than what’s available now. Nothing beat the day of the original magnums, though. Where each step of the book had a picture, you could follow an entire transmission removal, disassemble, assembly and install from page 1 to page 200 in sequential steps. Things were easy to find by the index. I think I only had one class with Russ in all my travels to Racine. If I remember correctly he was a combine specialist? I spent most of my time training on tractors and then the precision farming side of things.

One other thing...Even though there were people at JI Case that were a bit overzealous at getting rid of a lot of IH "things" they were smart enough to keep a lot of the right people from IH.

The Magnum books were excellent, I just wish they had a master "roadmap" schematic to go along with their troubleshooting guides. Fiat wanted to completely eliminate the roadmap schematics as you could just look them up on your tablet.
