Eastern NE KS | My 2nd hand experience with Maines hope your bull's calving ease genetics come thru. Middle Man, sire of,your bull, had a birth wt of 65 lbs and has a reputation of that trait.
Locally, a novice neighbor to Maine cattle crippled 4 cows he AI'ED to a Maine bull. I do not know this sire name.He was looking to make clubby calves and catch extra income with show steers bred him his commercial angus cows. The cows decended from a holstein dairy herd.
The picture of your bull shows him in working condition as a 3 year old. I see no obvious reason to dislike the bull. I wonder why the previous owner is selling him. It cicles my thoughts around hard calving or a behavioral problem.
