I haven't looked at the "loonie" but the US$ appears to be having a "rally in a bear market". The recent upmove had the looks of an Elliot Wave A-B-C correction, hence deeper lows to come. That will support higher commodities generally. Both US and C should fundamentally benefit from that. Economic policies likely will have an impact but are more aligned than they have been.
