| Alot of small towns have abandoned their own generating capacity but ours still has its own which mainly gets used during summer peak. Cat powered diesel gen set bought used from Orlando Florida municipalitie (lol they bought wind power from high plains.. works most of the time..)
Our town needs about 2500 kw's.. and can generate 100% of needs but cheaper to buy baseload from the grid.
They got the call to fire up this morning at 5 am.. they do not know yet how long they will run.. probably through tomorrow..
